Dating back over 4,000 years Turmeric has a long-celebrated history in Asia as both a spice for food and its traditional medicine value and is one of the most thoroughly researched plants in existence today. It has been found to be an anti-oxidant, anti-Inflammatory and detoxifier which helps with inflammation and joint discomfort, overall wellness and liver support for NAFLD.

Organic Ginger has been added for digestive comfort. It has been used for thousands of years and is well known for helping to reduce nausea, upset stomach, and other stomach ailments. Like turmeric, ginger has anti-inflammatory properties that may help relieve the symptoms of arthritis and help calm the symptoms of chest and throat infections, including the common cold.*

BioPerine® has been found to significantly improve the bioavailability of Curcumin in your body, increasing absorption. Studies have found a 20x (2000%) increase in bioavailability compared to taking Turmeric Curcumin alone. BioPerine® is a patented extract from black pepper fruits (Piper nigrum), standardized to 95% minimum Piperine. Black pepper has been used since ancient times and is one of the most widely used spices worldwide. With this increase of absorption, SMALLER DOSES OF TURMERIC ARE RECOMMENDED.

Research is showing that turmeric may:

1. Reduce hay fever symptoms such as sneezing, itching, runny nose, and congestion.*

2. Improve indigestion in some patients. Taking curcumin, a chemical found in turmeric, by mouth may work as well as another drug, called omeprazole.*

3. Reduce depression symptoms in people already using an antidepressant.*

4. Lower levels of blood fats called triglycerides.*

5. Reduce markers of liver injury in people who have nonalcoholic fatty liver disease or NAFLD. It also seems to help prevent the build-up of more fat in the liver.*

6. As lozenge, prevent swelling and sores in the mouth during radiation treatment for cancer.*

7. Reduce pain and improves function in people with knee osteoarthritis. Turmeric might work about as well as ibuprofen for reducing pain.* The Arthritis Foundation recommends one 500 mg capsule of curcumin extract taken twice daily to help control symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

8. Reduce itching that is caused by various conditions.*

9. PRECAUTIONS:

a. Turmeric can make gallbladder problems worse. Do not use turmeric if you have gallstones or a bile duct obstruction.

b. Taking turmeric might slow blood clotting. This might increase the risk of bruising and bleeding in people with bleeding disorders.

c.  Although the risks are minimal and complications rare, scientists have published  case studies linking turmeric supplements to liver injury, especially large doses combined with black pepper to increase absorption. That is why Eagle Vitality has a lower dosage for our turmeric supplement with black pepper. While turmeric supplements are not inherently unhealthy or bad, and may offer many benefits, the adage "too much of a good thing" holds true.
